Akka Foundation's Drushti Abhiyan brings vision to rural India
The power of community is truly remarkable. When individuals come together with a common
goal of improving the lives of others, incredible things can happen. This was demonstrated
recently in the 96th village of Vagadari, in the Devani taluka, where the Akka Foundation
organized a Drushti (vision) health camp. The campaign was a resounding success, providing
essential eye health assistance to rural citizens, particularly the elderly.
As we all know, access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world, including rural areas in India, healthcare can be difficult to access, and eye health is no exception. Eye diseases such as cataracts and refractive errors can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life, but they can often go untreated, leading to blindness or other complications. This is where the Drushti campaign comes in, providing much-needed eye health services to those who may not have access to them otherwise.

society, including Sarpanch Gyaneshwarji Holsambar and Upasarpanch Surajji Patil, joined
doctors, staff, and a large number of villagers to support the initiative. The sense of camaraderie

special.
As Sarpanch Gyaneshwarji Holsambar put it, "We need to come together as a community to
support initiatives like Drushti, which provide essential healthcare services to those who need
them most. It's heartening to see so many people here today, working together towards a
common goal of improving the lives of our fellow citizens."

has been running for several sessions, and it's making a real difference in the lives of people
